The Sahel There is a slight tilt in the odds favoring below normal rainfall for sections of western Sahel, including western Mali and southern Mauritania. There is a slight tilt in the odds favoring above normal rainfall for sections of eastern Burkina Faso, and southern Niger. Climatology is expected elsewhere.
